You cannot miss her inviting friendliness and bright red hair. Rebecca Borella! She cares deeply about her family and has a strong ambition to bring yoga to our special kids and adults. Did you know Rebecca is also our Flux Marketing goddess? It’s no wonder she is our Warrior of the Week. We love you RB!
How long have you been practicing at Flux Power Yoga? How did you know this was your place?
I’ve been practicing at Flux since May 2018 and knew this was the studio for me from day 1. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, the teacher was knowledgeable and fun, and the playlist was on point!
How has your practiced evolved and /or what benefits have you gotten in your practice and in your life?
Well…I came to Flux as an injured distance runner, looking to add some strength and variety into my recovery/workouts. What I found was SO much more. I found myself AND this incredible group of super supportive people that have now become my tribe.
Yoga was like this missing piece in my life that I never knew I needed and now, can’t imagine living without. I had always pushed myself to do more, be more, say more…and if I’m honest, listen a little less. Yoga has helped me to stop and listen, not just to myself, but to everyone and everything. This listening has made a huge impact in my family, my friendships, and even my career focus.
This past January, I became a certified kids yoga teacher! Yay! I’m now teaching yoga in after school enrichment programs throughout Bellingham Public Schools. Working with these kiddos and watching their practices develop/evolve has been such a fulfilling experience. Best job ever!
Favorite pose and why?
Extended mountain pose is for sure my favorite. I feel grounded, connected, and powerful. It seems like such a simple pose, but I’ve found there is always more for me to explore in mountain pose.
Any advice for new yogis?
You are an amazing person, unique and special in so many ways…and so is your yoga practice! Find joy in the good days and give yourself grace on the days when things seem to go a little sideways. Yoga is a practice not a perfect 🙂
