How long have you been practicing at Flux Power Yoga? How did you know this was your place?
I became a member of Flux back in September of 2018. Cami Grichel was the person that initially inspired me to give Flux a try… Thanks Cami!
How has your practice evolved and /or what benefits have you gotten in your practice and in your life?
Before I started Flux I was suffering from some shoulder, back & neck pain and weak ankles which was limited my mobility and ability to exercise regularly. After committing to practicing 3-5 times per week the pain and mobility issues subsided. I know have a stronger core mentally, physically and spiritually that is evident in the way I carry myself. Committing to Flux has truly helped me weather the day to day storms I’ve faced. I am now more confident and excited about growing stronger in my practice.
Favorite pose and why?
Tree Pose is my favorite. I have weak ankles and it helps me to improve my stability. I love the feeling when I’ve nailed the full expression of the pose, grounded, hands up, head back and letting yourself go without fear of falling out of the pose. It reminds me to take those calculated risks with confidence and joy.
Any advice for new yogis?
I’m a creature of habit and didn’t start to feel the benefits until I committed to going 4-6 times per week. I found just getting to class is half the battle. So make the commitment to just go even when you don’t feel up to it. You’ll be glad you did in the end.
