Warrior of the Week: Jessica Cowden
How long have you been practicing at Flux Power Yoga? How did you know this was your place?
I have been practicing at Flux YOGA for about a year now! The moment I stepped into the studio and felt the warmth and left dripping in sweat, feeling inspired, and in a great mood. I knew it was the place for me!
How has your practice evolved and /or what benefits have you gotten in your practice and in your life?
What I love about Flux is there is a message for the week, that I can take with me into my everyday life. I teach group fitness and when I take a flux class it inspires me to be a better instructor. Shine my light to others. Flux is a practice in that moment but also stays with me throughout my whole day and my week. Flux educates with the pose of the week. So I grow and get stronger with each practice. My practice has evolved so much that I am signed up for the Teacher training in September! I’m ready for a deeper understanding of the poses, breath, and of YOGA all together.
Favorite pose and why?
I love the strength of the warrior poses! Reverse/Sun warrior in particular. I love the opening of the heart, feeling grounded through the feet, and strength in the legs.
Any advice for new yogis?
Advice for a new Yogi, come with an open heart and mind. Be ready to feel powerful and strong, wherever you are at in your YOGA journey. You will leave each class feeling better than you did before you came! You will always learn or try something new no matter how long you have been practicing!
