Warriors of the Week: Kat and Lisa McAvoy
How long have you been practicing at Flux Power Yoga? How did you know this was your place?
We started practicing at Flux in August 2018. We knew it was our place to practice because it was very welcoming and chill. From there we joined the sunrise challenge and practiced 5 days a week for the month of September. This impacted our commitment to practicing regularly at 6:15 am.
How has your practice evolved and /or what benefits have you gotten in your practice and in your life?
I’ve been able to reduce/ completing diminish lower back & wrist discomfort, enabling me to do more poses and live without chronic aches.
Starting the day with yoga gives me more energy and inspiration for the day ahead. I also rarely have upper back pain or headaches as compared to before I began practicing.
Favorite pose and why?
Half moon pose because on the days that I’m able to hold the pose I feel really strong!
My favorite pose right now is downward facing dog. I like that its an active and restorative pose.
Any advice for new yogis?
Keep practicing! You’ll not only feel stronger physically but mentally as well.
